Executive Profiles
Marshall Hart, CEO
Hart brings over 30 years of management experience in the technology sector,
and 15 years in test and measurement resale, rental, leasing and distribution.
He founded MetricTest in 1992 and has managed the company's growth into
a leading reseller of electronic test equipment worldwide. Prior to starting
MetricTest, Hart successfully led two separate corporate turnarounds.
As president of LeasaMetric, Inc., a high tech instrumentation and computer
rental company, he transformed a declining U.S. business into a $60 million
global enterprise and sold the domestic and Canadian operations to GE
Capital and the European operations to Hewlett Packard. Hart also served
as president of Mag Media, Ltd., a floppy disk manufacturer, and took
the company from Chapter 11 to profitability before selling it to Polaroid.
Hart previously oversaw the Europe/Africa/ Middle East division of Verbatim
Corporation. Hart earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
from Western New England College and a master's in engineering from Penn
State University.
Vern Stevenson, President & COO
Stevenson is a 20-year Silicon Valley veteran with a unique blend of venture
capital, board and operational expertise. Most recently he served as interim
CEO and board member for Broadstorm, a wireless broadband product company.
Before Broadstorm, Stevenson served as Vice President of Corporate and
Business Development for PacketVideo Corporation, a software technology
and services company. Prior to joining PacketVideo, Stevenson was Vice
President, Partner and one of the founding members of Mustang Ventures,
the corporate venture capital arm of Siemens AG Information and Communications
Group. Earlier in his career, Stevenson held a variety of field and corporate
executive positions in sales/marketing, general management and business
transformation assignments with Honeywell, ROLM, IBM and Siemens. Stevenson
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Business Administration from
the University of California at Berkeley and serves on the board of directors
at MobiTV as well as on the advisory boards of several start-up technology
companies.
Dan Starkey, Vice President
Starkey brings 10 years of marketing, product development and business development experience to MetricTest. Starkey previously led
the marketing and product development efforts for Go.edu, a software provider of student information systems for K-12 schools. Prior
to that, he worked in business development at AAA for the $1.7 billion insurance division. Starkey launched AAA’s first insurance-only
sales offices in Northern California and Nevada. Starkey also worked as a marketing consultant for Visa’s debit card division.
Starkey earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis and an MBA in marketing and international business
from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business.
Robert Parker, Vice President and CFO
Parker joined MetricTest from ABM Industries, a $1.8 billion industrial
services company, where he was the chief financial officer and vice president
of American Commercial Security Services, the security division of ABM
Industries. Parker's background also includes working at large accounting
firms. As a senior auditor at Ernst & Young, he focused on the manufacturing
industry and helped U.S. Intec file for its initial public offering. Prior
to that, Parker was an auditor at Arthur Andersen. Parker earned a bachelor's
degree in business administration from Texas State University
and is a CPA in the state of Texas.
