Superior Signal Integrity
Superior signal integrity comes from Agilent’s RF design expertise, proprietary packaging
technologies and unique CMOS ADC architecture. This is shown by the extremely low noise floor
of the oscilloscopes. The higher the bandwidth of an oscilloscope, the more subject it is to
increased intrinsic noise. Higher levels of intrinsic noise will degrade every measurement the
oscilloscope makes. The oscilloscope that will make the best measurement will not be the one with
the higher bandwidth but the one with sufficient bandwidth that has the lowest intrinsic noise floor.
Each model of the Infiniium 80000B series offers the industry’s lowest noise floor at its particular
bandwidth. Additional signal integrity advantages of the series include the industry’s lowest jitter
measurement floor, the industry’s lowest trigger jitter and the industry’s flattest frequency response.
Upgradeable Bandwidth for Future Technology
The ultra high-speed digital electronics market and related RF electronics market are rapidly changing.
Signal rates of popular industry standards range from few hundred megahertz to multi-gigahertz, such as
USB 2.0 at 480 megabits per second, PCI Express at 2.5 gigabits per second, and fully buffered DIMM (FBD)
at 4.8 gigabits per second. Rise-times of each key standard range from a few hundred picoseconds to faster
than 50 picoseconds. An oscilloscope suitable for this year’s application may not have sufficient performance
for next year’s application. The unique bandwidth upgradeability of the Infiniium 80000B Series allows
engineers to select the appropriate bandwidth needed for their particular application today, then upgrade
oscilloscope performance as the next project moves on to more advanced technology.
Largest Selection of Application Software
Infiniium application software is available for the Infiniium 80000B Series. There are 23 application
packages vital to engineers designing high-speed serial buses, RF and wireless products, and other
ultra-high-speed electronics. Agilent InfiniiScan, the industry’s first event identification software, is now
part of the selection that includes second-generation jitter analysis, serial data analysis with 8b/10b
decoding, and compliance test packages for standards such as USB 2.0, PCI Express, Ethernet, DVI, HDMI,
Fibre Channel, FBD, DDR and SATA, and SAS.
