The modular logic analysis system HP 16500C mainframe can be configured for a wide range of measurement tasks, including microprocessor debug with source-code referencing, timing verification and debug, software performance analysis and characterization. The modular nature of the logic analysis system enables you to add new measurement modules as your needs change.

The mainframe and companion HP16501A expander frame house up to 10 integrated, time-correlated measurement modules -- state/timing analysis, oscilloscope analysis, pattern generation, ultra-deep data capture and ultra-high-speed timing. A consistent menu-driven user interface spans all modules.

Features:

Save time with the color touchscreen. Simply point to the field you want to change; the touchscreen eliminates the need to search a front panel for the right button. Pop-up menus offer all choices at a glance, and the software ensures that you always make a valid choice. Front-panel operations can also be executed with a mouse and/or keyboard, providing complete user-interface flexibility.

Since 1987, HP has continuously introduced new and more powerful measurement modules, system software upgrades and analysis/display functionality. The HP E2479A upgrade kit can be used to upgrade any HP 16500B to the latest HP 16500C configuration.

The networked user interface brings logic analysis to your computing environment. Activate the X Window System interface for remote viewing and control at your workstation or PC. You can even operate the logic analysis system at remote locations across the Internet.

A system of measurement modules
The 16500C is the mainframe of the logic analysis system. It offers a modular structure for plug-in modules with a wide range of state, timing, oscilloscope and pattern generator capabilities.

Powerful, easy to use interface
The touchscreen interface offers pop-up menus and color graphics to lead you through measurement configurations without having to remember a lot of steps. You can add a keyboard or mouse to speed data input and measurement configuration.

Intermodule measurement capability
The HP 16500C offers intermodule measurement features that allow you to capture complex system activity. Modules can:

be armed by an external signal
be armed by another module in the HP 16500C frame
be used to arm an external instrument

Install measurement modules in any slot
Single card analyzers, oscilloscopes and other options can go in any slot of the HP 16500C. Some measurement slots have multiple cards. A multiple-card module must be installed into adjacent slots in the same mainframe.
