Fluke DSP-FTK Optical
Test Kit
Fluke offers several accessories for the DSP Series cable
testers, OneTouch Network Assistant and LANMeter test tools. These fiber
test accessories measure power or power loss in optical fiber links used
in premise wiring and LAN networks.
Fiber Optic Test Kit includes an optical power meter
(DSP-FOM), combination 850/1300 nm LED power source (DSP-FOS), patch cables,
adapters and hard carrying case.
- Measure optic power in dBm or ÔW
- Measures optical power loss in dB
- Lightweight, heavy-duty design for rugged field use
Features
Simplifies fiber testing
The Fiber Optic Meter (DSP-FOM) interfaces with the DSP
Series cable testers, OneTouchT Network Assistant, or Enterprise LANMeterr
using a short twisted-pair patch cable which plugs into the 8-pin modular
jack of these instruments. Just select the wavelength to be measured with
the optical meter's slide switch (850 nm, 1300 nm, and 1550 nm), and the
test tool will input, display, and store the measurement.
The Fiber Test Kit (DSP-FTK) or the Fiber Optic Meter (DSP-FOM)
works with DSP-100s with software version 3 or higher, all DSP-2000s and
DSP-4000s, OneTouch Network Assistant with software version 2.2 or higher,
and Enterprise LANMeter models with software version 8.0 or higher.
Allows a choice of test options
Use the DSP-FOM Fiber Optic Power Meter to measure optical
power, in dBm or mW. You can also measure optical power loss (expressed
in dB). The power loss measurement (or attenuation) compares the measured
light energy at the end of the link (output) to the reference level at
the input (the light source). This loss measurement result delivers a
true optical loss measurement for the link by subtracting the loss associated
with the fiber optic patch cables. The operator can specify the Pass/Fail
limit for loss and also the direction (A-B or B-A) of the measurement.
The Fluke fiber optic sources can be used with other fiber
optic power meters.
Generates complete reports through a
PC or directly to a printer
You can record and store any combination of copper or fiber
optic Autotest reports with the DSP Series cable testers. Each test report
can be assigned a unique, user-definable label, and can be downloaded
to a PC or printed directly from the cable tester to a serial printer.
Test reports contain wavelength, measured loss, loss limit, test direction
and reference level. The fiber test results may be saved in the tester
memory using a cable name of up to 27 characters long.
Easy to learn and use
The fiber test accessories complement the Fluke instruments
with the same technological leadership and ease of use that has made Fluke
an industry standard. The large, easy-to-read menus on the LCD display
of the test tools prompt the operator through each step of a fiber link
