Design engineers are challenged every day with debugging their designs.
Logic analyzers provide real-time digital circuit operation visibility
that enables designers to capture and analyze elusive problems that threaten
their project schedules. Logic analyzers capture digital signals using
two techniques: timing acquisition and state acquisition. Each acquisition
method provides a unique way to acquire and analyze the digital circuit
operation. Timing acquisition is a powerful tool to capture and analyze
glitches that cause circuit operation problems. State acquisition can
be used to capture and analyze setup/hold violations in synchronous circuits
or to trace state operation of a digital circuit. Also, analyzing the
digital signals time-correlated with analog waveforms from an oscilloscope
solves some circuit problems quicker.
